For the 5,000 people all crammed into a small neighbourhood in Bani Suheila, Gaza, access  to good sanitation has always been contentious.

Through a project funded by Muslim Aid and implemented by Oxfam, a pump station was built which benefited 8,000 households with access to clean safe water.  In addition, community hygiene promotion activities such as health awareness, solid waste collection and disposal were conducted to maximise the benefits of the sewerage work.
