Muslim Aid condemns Al-Ahli hospital bombing in Gaza

Muslim Aid Condemns Al Ahli Arab Hospital bombing and calls for immediate opening of humanitarian corridor

Muslim Aid condemns the bombing of Al Ahli Arab Hospital in northern Gaza, on Tuesday, which claimed the lives of hundreds of people. Thousands were left injured with many more buried under the rubble of the destroyed hospital building.

Not only was the hospital one of the few in operation but also served as a shelter to hundreds of internally displaced people, mainly women and children.

"It is heartbreaking to see children suffer and pay the price for this devastating war. The International community must act and stop this disastrous situation from worsening.

All Aid agencies should be given unrestricted access to the Gaza Strip so that we can provide emergency relief. A humanitarian corridor should be opened without any delay, and civilians should be protected at all costs in the besieged enclave of over 2 million people," said Khalid Javid, CEO of Muslim Aid.

Muslim Aid urges global leaders to protect civilians, public infrastructure and healthcare services.

"International humanitarian law must be respected at all times, even during times of war and hospitals and schools must be actively protected and never targeted. Today's sad events should be the last in this devastating war," said Khalid.

Muslim Aid team in Gaza is serving people despite the challenging situation on the ground. Like many others, our team is at risk due to continuous bombardment, and we are hoping for a swift end to hostilities and the protection of civilian life.

We are a faith-based British international charity that provides help to people who are victims of natural disasters or conflict or suffering from poverty, hunger, disease, homelessness, injustice, deprivation or lack of skills and economic opportunities.
