Lejla was one of the first children to be enrolled under the Rainbow Family Programme in 2007.

She was just two years old when her father died in the war in Bosnia. Her mother struggled as a single parent to support her child’s educational expenses.

Through child sponsorship, Lejla was able to attend school regularly and successfully completed secondary school.  She has recently finished her masters and has made history by being the first Bosnian female to hold a master in Air Traffic Control.

Lejla thanked Muslim Aid for the support, “I am grateful because I was a part of the Rainbow Family Programme. The financial support for my education boosted my confidence and made it easier for me to concentrate on my studies.”

Muslim Aid has given Lejla the opportunity to pursue her dream of working in the field of air transport and help build a better future for her and her family.
